Tools for Submitting and Pinging your Blog to Search Engines

I have stumbled upon a site that takes the manual work out of submitting your site to various search engines. FreeWebSubmission is a free service that submits your site to 20 search engines. You just enter your URL, e-mail address and click submit.

The free service of FreeWebSolutions doesn’t include a few of the top search engines unfortunately. However, below are a few links for manually submitting your site.

Yahoo http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request
- You need a free Yahoo e-mail account
- You can also add your blog to your Yahoo Page to increase views in their Yahoo Blogsearch

MSN – http://beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
- No account needed

Each time you post to your blog, make sure you ping to have the updates included in the search engines.

Steve from http://swbbtravel.blogspot.com recommended a great site for getting your pinging done in one swoop. It’s called PingMyBlog and it’s very simple to use…
1. Enter the “blog name
2. Enter your “Blog URL”
3. Enter the “Blogfeed URL” (Optional)
4. Place checkboxes for sites you want to ping
5. Then just hit the “Ping” button and they do all the work for you
