Blogging Gifts: 10 Affordable Advertising Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Since I’ve been blogging, I’ve read a few great articles that have listed some top gifts for bloggers, but I have my own idea of gifts that would serve as great affordable stocking stuffers. These gifts are meant to help your blogger advertise and promote his or her blog. Many bloggers are cheap (as I am), but would love to try some of these methods to help promote their blog.

1. Advertising with Adwords – No spending requirements, daily budget of $5, max cost of 10 cents per ad click, etc. Many bloggers are cheap, but would love to try some advertising. Perhaps you could spend the minimum just to let your blogger give it a try.

2. Ad Campaign with Stumbled Upon – Starts at 5 cents per targeted visitor & you can set a daily budget. I use Stumbled Upon and it’s a great source of traffic, but I’m too cheap to try the advertising campaigns. No clickthroughs, popups, etc. Your blogger could target their audience by category, location, gender & age and see who liked & disliked their pages.

3. Custom Bumper Stickers, Ties, US Postage, etc. with Zazzle – 20 stamps for under $20, bumper stickers for $4, mugs starting at $13, etc. Who says that the only place to advertise your blog is online? Get your blogger a bumper stickers, stamps, etc with their advertisement.

4. Business Cards, Post Cards, Fliers, Calendars, etc. with Vista Print – 250 premium business cards for $3.99, 100 post cards for under $20, free stuff, etc. Let your blogger create a custom premium business card for their blog. They’ll be able to get advertisements by dropping them in envelopes, handing them out, leaving them on desks, etc.

5. Ad Space in Local Newspaper - Prices vary by newspaper, but Florida Today offers 3 days & 4 lines free, 35 days for $130, etc. Purchase ad space for their blog, which will enable them to reach a more localized audience.

6. Buy Ad Spaces at TextAdMarket – $10 minimum to get advertising on other online sites you choose from the listing. You can also see where the advertisement will be located on the site before choosing.

7. Customize Pens with Pensxpress - 50 of the nicest pens for $30, 100 of the cheapest for $37, etc. Add logos for $20 more. I always read the writing on pens, personally. People love to take pens, especially at workplaces, so why not have some pens with your blogger’s link on them? Advertise by giving out pens, dropping them on counters & desks, restaurants, etc.

8. Purchase ad space in Magazines - Prices vary and some are free. Pick the magazine that fits your blogger’s site & they’ll be able to have published advertisements.

9. Move Blogger Blog to Domain for $10 – If your blogger uses Blogger, they can get a .Net, .Com, etc. domain for $10, while still completely managing their blog within blogger. They won’t lose any data and can do transfer it within 5 minutes. The domain is GoDaddy, but they’ll control it from Blogger.

10. Create Your Custom T-Shirt with Spreadshirt – You can get most custom shirts for less than $20. Sweatshirts will cost you about $30. You can pick the type of shirt & design, then upload the blog logo & add a link and other text.
