Update: Oct 3rd – Snaptu added to the list. It’s definitely worth checking out.
I’m always on the lookout for the latest and greatest in BlackBerry Apps. Today, I wanted to highlight a variety of BlackBerry Twitter Apps and attempt to highlight what makes each unique. uberTwitter has been my Twitter Client, but I cannot wait for TweetGenius to be released from Closed Beta. There’s quite a bit of buzz surrounding TweetGenius. I also love SocialScope for it’s Facebook integration and Twixtreme for it’s overall look and feel with the graphics and icons. Below are the 10 different Twitter Apps to choose from. Enjoy!
Twibble (FREE) Fast and feature rich Twitter App for BlackBerry. Supports video, pictures (Mobypictures or Twitpic) and has standard Twitter functionality including follow and unfollow. Twibble comes with a couple different themes to choose from. The current beta version expires September 30th.
uberTwitter (FREE or $4.99 Subscription) uberTwitter is leading the pack in popularity.Features tweetphoto.com support, email forwarding, visual icon notification, the ability to update your Google Talk status and comes with all the standard Twitter functionality including follow/unfollow.
TinyTwitter (FREE) The customization distinguishes itself by letting you customize fonts, update intervals and gives you a scrolling Tweet line. One thing I like is the ability to temporarily hide friends of your choice and collapse tweets. It has standard Twitter functionality.
TwitterBerry (FREE) Along with uberTwitter, TwitterBerry is probably the most popular BlackBerry Twitter App. This App is easy to use and supports Twitpic and features all the standard Twitter functionality.
YATCA (FREE) What distinguishes YATCA from the others is the integration with your BlackBerry Messaging application. You can have tweets of your choice sent to your inbox. Customize the type of messages you want in your inbox (i.e. replies, direct messages, timeline, etc.). YACTA has standard Twitter functionality.
TweetGenius ($9.99) Premium Twitter application that previously released an introductory application. Currently, you can provide your email address to receive notification for when the new TweetGenius launches. They’ve recently partnered with Beejive and promise to provide some cool features once it’s out of closed beta. The introductory app featured a simple 3 icon set with extensive customization features. Though it’s currently in private Beta, it’s one to watch.

SocialScope (FREE) Currently in private beta, this Twitter App is the only BlackBerry Twitter App (to my knowledge) that also integrates with your Facebook updates. Supports Twitpic, multiple Twitter Accounts and has all the standard Twitter functionality.
TweetCaster (FREE if you send the tweet it requests to promote it, otherwise costs $4.99) I’d recommend doing the Tweet. Features URL shortening, picture sharing, @replies and @retweets, GPS locator, supports multiple Twitter accounts and has other standard Twitter functionality. Better than a screen cap, here’s a demo.
Twixtreme (FREE) My favorite thing about Twixtreme is the icons and graphics it uses, which makes things a little more fun and interesting. Standard Twitter functionality, with the ability to upload pictures and view nearby tweets.
Snaptu 1.2.3 (FREE) Yet another great BlackBerry App that provides the ability to keep up with blogs, movies, weather and of course Twitter and Facebook. There’s a few other tools displayed via icons and I am in the process of further exploring it from my BlackBerry Storm. So far, I have to say that I’m a fan.
Do you currently use any of the BlackBerry Twitter Apps listed? What do you think? Have a favorite or one you just hate? Feel free to share what you like and what could use improvements.
