Arrested Development, one of the greatest yet most underrated television series of all-time is moving to the big screen in 2011. Arrested Development centers around a once wealthy, dysfunctional family named the Bluths. The show is a unique comedy, that incorporates a hand-held camera and is narrated, while being shot in a pseudo-documentary style.
Created by Mitchell Hurwitz and executive producer/narrator Ron Howard, this award winning series was unfortunately canceled in 2006, while in its third season. As mentioned on Wikipedia, “the series received six Emmy awards, one Golden Globe, critical acclaim, a cult follow
ing, several fan-based websites, and a spot on Time’s 100 Greatest Shows of All Time.” It’s also in my personal top five television series of all-time.
On October 4th 2009, CinemaBlend.com reported the movie script is finally in the works. Notable actors of the Bluth family include Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor and Tony Hale. If you’ve never watched Arrested Development, all I can say is you’re definitely missing out. To get a feel for this crazy, yet hilarious out of whack family, check out a short video below.
