Being that this is the last day in 2009, it’s fun to look ahead to 2010 and beyond. Being a gadget fanatic, I’m extremely excited about a few gadgets that may all launch in 2010. While the iPod was introduced in 2001 and set the tone for the decade, I believe the three items below will kick of our 2010′s. Time will tell, but let’s take a closer look at three new advancements to look forward to in 2010.
First up is the highly anticipated multi-touch MacBook Tablet. As Mashable.com recently mentioned, Apple will be holding a special media event January 26th that should shed some light on the Apple Tablet. The Apple Tablet has been rumored to be named the iSlate or iGuide. Details are sketchy, but it’s no secret that Apple will expand upon the success of the iPod and iPod Touch, integrating many of the same features into its 7″ to 10″ Tablet screen. The video below is conceptual, but is sure to get you excited.
While the MacBook Tablet has garnered my attention, I’m quite intrigued by the XBox Project Nato. Think Wii without controllers. This “controller-free gaming and entertainment” platform is the next generation of video gaming.
“Introducing Project Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun — the only experience needed is life experience.”
Though the Apple Tablet and the XBox Project Nato shall amaze us and set the tone for the 2010′s, another advancement to look forward to is Organic LED (OLED) technology. The OLED is a significant improvement upon LCDs, since they don’t require a backlight. The OLED displays deep black levels and is much thinner and lighter than LCDs. The price is steep, rumored to be approximately $2500, but in time the price should drop.
Which gadget or technology are you looking most forward to in 2010? What are your thoughts on those listed above?
