In February 2005, three former PayPal employees created YouTube. Fast forward to today and homemade videos are being watched by millions all over the world. While the professionally produced Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance music video has just taken over as the most viewed YouTube video of all time at almost 180 million hits, the homemade video “Charlie Bit My Finger Again” is right behind with over 179 million hits. If Charlie can do it, we all have a chance.
So, what does it take to create a viral video? Though it’s been a few years since originally being published, Techcrunch presented some excellent suggestions and tips with The Secret Strategies Behind Many “Viral Videos.”
Today, I’d like to post one of my new favorite videos, Herman’s Dating Personal that just happens to be from a friend and one of the funniest guys I know.
