Everyone uses Facebook. Your friends, coworkers, family and just about everyone else you associate with. While Facebook is a great social networking site, there’s always ways to make it better. Thanks to Firefox, below you’ll find 5 of the absolute best Firefox Addons that will let you customize your layout, download your friends photo albums, download and share your Facebook videos, update your Facebook from a toolbar and more. Boost for Facebook is an oustanding Firefox add-on to fully customize your Facebook. There are over 300 skins you can use by simply going into the Boost Options, clicking Display and choosing the preloaded skin from the drop-down box. The skin below, which I’m currently using is Michael Jordan. The options are quite plentiful.

Within the General Tab you can add a Facebook Video Downloader, Rollover Pics (images enlarge as your mouse cursor rolls over each pic), one-click pokes, a Facebook URL shortener and autologin. The Homepage options gives you options to hide most ads, sponsor ads, social events and more. Without a doubt, Boost gives you a better Facebook experience with in-depth customization.

FacePAD is a Facebook Photo Album Downloader. You can use it to download your friends’ Facebook photo albums, group albums, event albums and more. To download your friends’ albums, right click on the album name URL and choose Download Album. For Event and Group Albums, right click on the See All link.

Facebook Toolbar gives you the ability to use Facebook directly from your toolbar without ever visiting Facebook. Customize options such as whether you want pop-up notifications and which notifications you want displayed…new friend requests, new messages, new pokes, new friends, new event invites, new group invites, new shares, etc. Similar to Stumble Upon, this Toolbar is very useful and fun to use.

FaceMod – Facebook Dislike Button (The Original) integrates a thumbs down option into Facebook. I’m surprised Facebook was built with a Like, but no dislike. Dislikes aren’t always negative. If someone states they are sick, do you give them a thumbs up? For other Facebook users who also have this addon installed, they’ll be able to see the thumbs down. Since not everyone will have this addon, it also comments with dislike.

You can use Prism not only with Gmail but with almost any web application. However, we’ll focus only on how to use it with Gmail

With Prism you can turn any web application into a desktop application. Here’s what I did with Gmail:

So what’s the use of this? At first sight, this looks like an old version of Internet Explorer 6.

The main use of it in my opinion, especially for Gmail is PRODUCTIVITY and ORGANIZATION. Let’s face it, it’s easy to get lost in the browser.
With just one click you immediately go to another ‘time wasting website.’ This won’t be the case if you’ve created a desktop
app out of a web app. Try it out and see if this approach will improve your productivity.

3. Gmail Notifier

If Prism is the ultimate productivity improver then Gmail notifer is the ultimate TIME WASTER (if you don’t used it smartly). You can check multiple Gmail accounts for new mail directly from your browser. That’s the primary function here. I recommend you use it carefully though. If you want to get things done then installing this add-on may take your procrastination to a whole new level. But if you use it smartly, for big project notifications and so on then you can benefit.

4. Gmail Drive

They claim this is a file storage add-on. I’ve tested it and it works perfectly for files smaller than 25 MB. So if you plan to use it, then separate the file into 25MB chunks.Kinda hard to get used to, though. But pretty powerful.

5. Better Gmail 2

REALLY useful Gmail extension for Firefox. It has some really neat features you can choose from like hiding things you don’t normally use (chat, invites box), hide spam count, Folders4Gmail and so on.

In searching for fresh Firefox Add-ons and Extensions, I stumbled across a treasure chest of Firefox Add-ons. Until today, I had no idea there was a Mozilla Firefox Add-on Collector section. Firefox Collections provides an extensive listing of Add-ons, grouped into themes. You can browse through Editor’s Picks, Popular or even share your own collection. They also have a Add-On Collector to add to your Firefox Browser. Though advertised as collections, you can install the Add-ons individually, so you can pick and choose those you want from each collection. Today, I wanted to cover a few of my favorite Firefox Collections.
