It also happens to be the top grossing iPad app in the Books category. This free app is has  a great looking interface that is amazing fluid and looks great on the iPad. It features Marvel and DC comics and offers over 500 free comics within the app. (Free)

2. Splashtop Remote Desktop (Business) current version is rated 4.5 stars out of 205 user ratings. This app is one of the top 20 best-selling iPad apps in 2011 and number 3 in top grossing iPad apps in the Business category. With Splashtop, you can remote into and control your PC or Mac and even stream audio and video.   You just sign up with your Gmail account, install the Splashtop Streamer on your computer and Splashtop does the rest. I’ve forgotten files on my computer at home and used this app to login to my computer and email them to myself at work. ($0.99)

3. Star Walk for iPad – Interactive Astronomy Guide (Education) is rated 4.5 stars out of 19 ratings with the recent update. It’s number two in top grossing iPad apps in the Education category. Star Walk is an augmented reality app that lets you point your iPad to the sky and see the stars, constellations and satellites you’re looking at in real time. ($4.99)

4. Netflix (Entertainment) has a 2.5 star rating with 258 ratings. The current version has a few bugs and users are having difficulty logging in, but once the issues are resolved, this app will continue to be the mainstay on just about everyone’s iPad. You have to be a Netflix user to take advantage of this app, but membership is completely worth streaming tons of movies and tv shows free. (Free)

5. Mint.com (Finance) has a 4.5 star rating in 194 reviews. Mint was named best in iPad Finance in 2011 by App Store Rewind and has been downloaded by 6 million users. With Mint, you can better manage your money and track all your spending. It shows you where you’re spending your hard earned money and how you can save. There are a few other great finance apps in the App Store, but Mint takes the crown. (Free)

6. Infinity Blade II (Games) has a 4.5 star rating with 5469 reviews. Sites such as IGN, Appolicious and G4TV have given it a perfect rating and it’s the 8th  highest grossing iPad app in Games. With games such as Grand Theft Auto 3, Battle Nations and many others, Infinity Blade II has stiff competition. However, this game is visually stunning supports HDMI output/iCloud and has been powered up with more weapons and a deeper world than the award-winning first Infinity Blade. ($6.99)

7. MyNetDiary – Food and Exercise (Health & Fitness) is rated 4.5 stars with 203 reviews. It’s the 8th highest grossing app in the Health & Fitness category. This app lets you easily track your food intake using a food database of 416K foods and is packed with other features to track your  fitness and progress. I lost 22 lbs in just a few months with this app, so couldn’t recommend it more. ($9.99)

1. Video Killed the Radio Star – The Buggles – The very first music video ever played on MTV. This song is one of the best songs of the 80′s. Who would have guessed that 30 years later, MTV Killed the Video Star.

2. You Better Run – Pat Benatar Sassy Pat Benatar lookin and sounding great!

3. She Won’t Dance With Me – Rod Stewart Rod Stewart rockin the mullet and dancing in front of the all-poked dotted room.

4. You Better You Bet – The Who Shot in black and white for artistic reasons. Not much more to say.

5. Little Suzi’s on the Up – Ph. D This guy scares me. He dances with meat then gets a rating from the judges. Not sure how that relates to Little Suzi.

6. We Don’t Talk Anymore – Cliff Richard (Live) Some funky, herky-jerky dancing.

7. Brass in Pocket – The Pretenders Not sure what’s stranger, the beehive hair due or when Fonzi and his crew points to the menu and says “Special”

8. Time Heals – Todd Rundgren Despite the funny black suit and the funky dance, this is a pretty creative video using surreal art and creative background images.

9. Take it on the Run – REO Speedwagon (Live Version) Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who… Yep, that song. Not a bad tune, but check out the hair due.

10. Rockin the Paradise – Styx I couldn’t get past this guy’s tight red pants to take this video seriously. I think he was smuggling some berries.

11. When Things Go Wrong – Robin Lane and the Chartbusters – This video was pretty boring, but I love the name… The Chartbusters.

12. History Never Repeats – Split Enz – This crazy video consists this guy singing to himself on tv, mostly while in bed.  Looks like the guy from Can’t Buy Me Love.

13. Hold On Loosely – 38 Special Forgot all about 38 Special. Solid song that I think I’ve listened to on a few 8o’s soundtracks.

14. Just Between You and Me – April Wine (Live Version) I was expecting to see a female, when I saw the artist. Recognizable song though.

15. Sailing – Rod Stewart - A young Rod Stewart singing this soft love song. Uggh

16. Iron Maiden – Iron Maiden – One of the earliest hair metal bands.

17. Keep on Loving You – REO Speedwagon One of the most recognizable songs on the list. This is from their album, titled “You can Tune a Piano, but You Can’t Tune a Fish.” Hmmm

18. Bluer Than Blue – Michael Johnson This guy spends half the video laying on the couch.

19. Message of Love – The Pretenders (Live Version) This performance was on the 1981 show, The Fridays.

20. Mr. Briefcase – Lee Ritenour Trying to figure this video out was quite difficult. Still wondering why he was laying on the table with high heels.

21. Double Life – The Cars (Live Version) I’m always up for listening to The Cars, but this video is an 80′s video if I’ve ever seen one.

22. In the Air Tonight – Phil Collins – (Live Version) One of my favorite songs! This is live, but I had to post the video of this classic song.

23. Lookin for Clues – Robert Palmer Robert Palmer dances around looking for clues that aren’t too difficult to spot.

24. Too Late – Shoes (Live Video) What a creative name for a band. Guess The Cars and The Doors were taken.

25. Stop Draggin My Heart Around – Stevie Nix & Tom Petty A young Tom Petty singing with Stevie Nix in this masterpiece.

26. Do You Think I’m Sexy – Rod Stewart (Live Video) Sexy Rod Stewart rocks the makeup and blouse like no other in this video.

27. Surface Tension – Rupert Hine Perhaps the strangest video of the list. I dig the surreal art in the background though.

28. One Step Ahead – Split Enz I think they are trying to sound like the Beetles.

29. Baker Street – Gerry Rafferty Great song with some fancy saxaphone play.

30. I’m Gonna Follow You – Pat Benatar A pretty cool song by the great Pat Benatar.

Other notable song I had to mention:

47. Rapture – Blondie – I admittedly still have this song on my iPod. The dancing guy in the white suit and top hat is kinda funny.

I hope you enjoyed the listing of videos. Unfortunately you’ll have a tough time finding these videos on MTV. In fact, I was only able to find about half the videos on MTV.com and they seem to have difficulty keeping the videos online. Guess where you’ll find each one of these videos whether live or the official? Yep, YouTube. YouTube picked up the ball that MTV dropped.

I watched McGuyver, The A-Team, Thundercats, He-Man and a who’s-who of great 80′s shows. I was a carefree kid with nothing but time on my hands. I found enjoyment playing my Atari with some of my favorite games like Pitfall and Space Invaders. Life was pretty easy…life was pretty good.

Today, I’m taking a dip back into memory lane, exploring some of the best retro sites that is sure to bring back some great memories. Whether you were a 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s or 90′s kid you’ll be able to appreciate these sites.

Retro Junk - Retro Junk is a collection of all kinds of great stuff from the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s. Search movies, tv shows, people, articles, commercials and all kinds of cool stuff you probably forgot about.

Vintage Ad Browser - This new site is a collection of vintage advertisements from books, magazines, comic books and more. The site currently has approximately over 123k ads to browse and enjoy. Check out this 50′s ad for the most beautiful tv.

Retro Thing – This site celebrates vintage gadgets, displaying classic gizmos and books.

1980 Games – 1980 Games is a site that provides all the greatest in 1980 classic games. You’ll be able to waste quite a bit of time at this site playing classics such as Donkey Kong, Frogger, Mario and more.

Yearbook Yourself – With this site, you upload a picture of you or your friends, then insert your mug into yearbook pictures from 1950′s til the 90s.

Paleo-Future – This site takes a look at retro movies, articles, quotes and more that predicted the future…but didn’t have the future quite right. This site is very interesting and entertaining. How about this prediction from 1949?

Old Computers – I’m having fun with this site. It’s all about old rare, vintage and obsolete computers. Take a look at the first laptops.

80′s Music Videos – How about some of those great music videos from the 80′s. Links are provided to an A to Z listing of all  your favorite videos. It’s fun looking back and seeing how cheesy some of these videos really were.

Beatallica (The Beatles & Metallica) – Beatallica is a bit different than the other bands listed in this entry. They take two of the greatest bands in The Beatles and Metallica and blends them together in an interesting and entertaining mix.

Ovueen (Queen) – Qvueen is a Korean Queen tribute band that is quite entertaining to watch. I found some videos on YouTube, but had difficulty finding additional information. Regardless, I think you’ll definitely enjoy this tribute band.

Lez Zeppelin (Led Zeppelin) – “Since forming in 2004, the New York City-based quartet has toured throughout the United States and Europe to become the first and foremost female rock act to pay homage to Led Zeppelin and to garner rave reviews across the board. Although, LEZ ZEPPELIN stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original, delivering the legendary rock band’s blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at what often are sold-out frenzied shows around the world, the four women that make for the four essentially diverse elements of the band bring their own unique energy and passion to the music.”

Schism (Tool) – “We started this back in 2001, after seeing a TOOL show at Madison Square Garden. Killer Queen (Queen) – Killer Queen has been performing Queen music since 1993. From details on their website, they utilize an authentic Queen stage set with lighted gangways, ultraviolet backdrop, risers and stairways and the band has outrageous costume changes, and use pyrotechnics.

Badfish (Sublime) – “What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. The Beatrips (Beatles) – The BeaTrips are a Beatles tribute band from Japan, who consider the music of the Beatles to be the most important aspect as they work to perfect their live performances. They first started as a tribute band back in 1999.

2112 (Rush) – 2112 is a Rush tribute band that uses vintage Rush footage to tweak their performances. They are considered as the best sounding and entertaining Rush tribute band.

Ummagumma (Pink Floyd) – Ummagummaa is an Argentina Pink Floyd tribute band. They have been performing Pink Floyd covers for 20 years and put on quite a show.

Axis (Jimmy Hendrix) – AXIS is a Jimi Hendrix tribute band, that formed 3 years ago. Kelven Dyson is the brainchild and the guitarist of this up and coming tribute band from Chicago. The guitar skills are quite amazing.
